Exclusive 4 bedroom condo high (ski in ski out) on the slopes in Ã…re - Scandinavias best ski resort. Great summer location too, lifts open for bikers and hikers (#36845)
The slope is right outside the door and you are in the middle of the system. If You want to go down to the village the old tram (Bergbanan) from the village center stops just left of the house.
The system is about 15 kilometers from one end to the other. The house is marked with a red dot. It is way above all other houses in the village.
Panaroma windows give an unobstructed view over the valley and the mountains to the west and south.
Well equipped kitchen that seats 10 persons.
Bathroom with connected sauna and built-in washer and dryer.
The sauna have a cleverly constructed mirror system that give a superb view over the village and the lake.
There are two bedrooms with double beds. This one also have a small desk to fit a computer.
There are two bedrooms with bunkbeds. The lower bed is wider then the upper on.
On the slopes a few hundred meters northeast of the house.
The cable car runs both winter and summer.
The surrundings are beautiful in the summer to. Biking, fishing, riding, canoeing, rafting are some of the things you can do.
There are numerous different bike tracks for all levels from beginners to experts.

The house was built in 2001. It consists of only six apartments and is located right on the slopes with magnificent views over the village and the lake. The old historic tram that goes from the center of the village up the slope stops 100 meters from the house. This means you can go shopping, dining, etc. without having to use the car (in reality you wont need a car at all if you dont want to explore the surrondings). In short it is the most exclusive living in Ã…re.
Total living area 100 square meters (1050 square feet) , 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.
The centre of the apartment is one huge room with top-modern kitchen with all equipment, living area, dining area and a big open fire. The windows covers the whole south side of this big room and gives a magnificent view. There is also a balcony with electrical heating.
There is a TV with Video/DVD, stereo and highspeed internet connection with wireless LAN. There are DVD:s and books (also in english).
Two of the bedrooms have kingsize double beds. The two other bedrooms have bunk beds. Totally 8 people can sleep in the apartment.
The main bathroom have a shower and a lovely sauna with a view over the lake through a clever mirrorsystem! There is also a washing machine and a dry tumbler.
There is a parking under roof with electricity for the car heater and a special locker room with workshop for the skis.
There are also 2 mountain bikes.

The apartment is right on the slopes but still in a quiet area where you will mostly only see the neighbours. Within easy walking distance there are a few really good restaurants and bars. There is also a brand new spa/gym/pool with all service only five minutes walk away. The old historic tram takes You right down to the centre of the village with more restaurants and shopping. To walk down to the village will take 10 minutes and the returntime will depend on the state of your thigh muscles. . .
Ã…re is without competition the best ski resort in Scandinavia. A stamp of approval to this is that the World Championships in downhill skiing was held here in 2007. There are more than 40 lifts and 100 slopes and under the right conditions somee really nice off pist skiing. The season starts in December and usually ends on the first of May.
However one should not forget the summer season. There are numerous things to do here at this time a year. Mountain biking is very popular and the big cable car and three other lifts runs all summer to transport both bikers and hikers to the top of the mountain. Ã…re is in the middle of an area with lots of mountains where you can hike for days without meeting another human. There are also a lot of different places to go by boat, to fish, canoe and do rafting. There is even a golf course but I dont know much about it.

We stay a lot in Ã…re but when we dont we rent it. ( For the rental we charge between 1900-2900 USD/week but an exchange is of course free). We also have a state of the art Snow Mobile (parked a few km away since there is a ban on snow mobiles in the village) with a sled that might be used after special agreement.
We can also exchange our home in Stockholm, a log house on a private island in Flen 110 km south of Stockholm or our Greek beach house, see them by opening the links below.
